I got the CCNA Cyber Ops Scholarship

What is it?

A few months ago, I applied for the new CCNA Cyber Ops scholarship. Cisco plans to offer scholarships to a new breed of cyber security professionals to cover the shortage of security pros.

The application process was easy, it took me less than 5 minutes and I already had my application submitted. The next step involved a 30 question test that consisted of a series of basic sysadmin type of questions on windows and Linux , some networking and basic security questions. I scored high enough 25/30 and got to the next step. It took them 2 months till December 2016 to send me an acceptance email that looked like this:

I am finishing my MCSA, then I will be going for the SSCP and RHCSA before July. I also plan on spending some time on the cisco cyber ops forums and the Net Academy (taking the sec essentials and linux course). I also intend to continue working on the CTF challenges as well.

2017 is going to be a busy year!
